Cathryn “Chef C” Matthes: Biography
Certified Executive Chef, Author and Speaker, Cathryn “Chef C” Matthes has been polishing her culinary craft for more than 35 years. Overweight from childhood, she gravitated to healthy cooking early in her career and is now recognized as one of the Top Ten Spa Chefs in the Southeast (Southern Living Magazine 2002).
Cathryn’s culinary consulting business, Chef C, LLC , offers a range of services to individuals and businesses in the United States and Canada. She is also the owner of “delisheee-yo”, a frozen yogurt and raw food snack shop on Hilton Head Island. She has been honored twice by Spa Finders Magazine (2001-2002) for her cuisine at Hilton Head Health, a world renowned weight loss and healthy lifestyle retreat, and has been featured in several prominent publications including The New York Daily News and The Atlanta Sports Journal.
She has hosted her own televised cooking program (WHH, Hilton Head) and has been a guest chef on NBC’s The Caroline Rhea Show (2003). Chef C has composed two recipe collections, (Recipes for a New Health Style, Sierra Tucson 1992 and Hilton Head Health Recipes 2001). She has been a contributing writer for Coastal Sport and Wellness and Zen Asheville magazines.
As a teacher, Chef C communicates her passion for super quality-fresh, local, seasonal and organic foods-through entertaining and informative cooking demonstrations that inspire her audiences to abandon dreary dieting schemes and join her in Celebrating the Nourishing Life! ®
