Spot Light on Dairy

Our May menu is a very creamy dreamy one, so we need to say, that although dairy is a delicious and nutritious meatless protein source it is high in fat and calories and should be used in moderation, with the exception of yogurt which is recommended daily.

When shopping; choose low fat or zero varieties and limit full fat cheese (because the low fat choices aren’t great; with the exception of Cabot brand) consumption to once or twice a week in small portions.

And: be sure to purchase organic dairy products or European imported foods, including butter, whenever possible.  Conventionally raised dairy cows in the US are subject to less than pleasant living and feeding conditions and are heavily dosed with antibiotics and dangerous hormones.
