5 Days to DelisheeeYo

Whew…things are moving fast now.  If all goes well…and that includes moving in a double fridge through a tiny door way…surely there is a metaphor in that…delisheeeYo should be opening on schedule next weekend!  I have been having a blast with these last stages, spending the last few days with the lovely Vanessa: muralist and mom to sweet little John (7 years old) painting my crazy retro design on the walls and counters.  So far the the response has been super positive-the look is vibrant and playful.  I love the feel!

My retro frozen yogurt machine, which I recently learned was made in the 1970′s-a great decade for music-has had a couple of overhauls since Wendy and I dragged her home from Gainsville.  Sorry to say my first experience with Taylor Freezer company, the makers of the machine, was less than pleasing so I found someone else, a local guy with his own little family run business to do another run through and he gave me the attention and service I was hoping to get from Taylor.  Many dollars and a lot of frustration later, Taylor has yet to make things right for me.  In my book, another example of the difference in working with a corporation versus an independent operator.  The good news is I feel good knowing that I have someone local who will look after us with love and concern and at a more reasonable price!

It just occurred to me that the old gal needs a name.  I like to name things…like Squeeky, my 98 Ford Ranger, Boo and Shordy, my goldfish, Marty: my Martin guitar etc.  I smell a contest!  How about a name the Fro Yo machine contest?  Stand by for more details on that.

In the meantime I am waiting for my first 10 case delivery of yo from Portland, my bio-degradable serving ware from Boulder, and my Maca powder from South America.  To balance out the enviro explosion from all that shipping, I am stocking up at the farmer’s market on the last of the local strawberries. Blue berries are in so I bought up a bunch of those, cleaned, hulled, dried and froze them for smoothies, sauces and delisheeePops, and I will be headed to Avondale farm in Savannah this week to pick blackberries!  Fun fun fun.

Meanwhile Ruby has called for another round of food deliveries so I am back on the Rubysghetti and Egg Froc track…she loves blueberries so I will be whipping a bunch of those on her.  Busy busy busy.  I love it all!
