Now that I am well into the process of opening this little business of mine I can kick back and honestly say…”charge”. There was definitely a time frame in the early stages where I woke up in the middle of the night, pretty freaked by my decision to root in. I have been a gypsy for much of my life, even though I have logged some years in a few locations, I have never really rooted in. Not really really. Not having kids and having a demanding career tends to keep the tethers a bit loose and I like it that way. I like to pick up and boogie when the mood strikes and the thought of that loss of freedom had me sweatin’ in the wee hours a couple of times. But the deeper I dig in the more I dig the feeling of becoming part of the local business community, and with my food, creating a little troop of followers that I can nourish and play with. So if you have been thinking for years about starting something all your own I want to encourage you to charge ahead and do it. Interest rates are fantastic for lending, craftsmen and companies are willing to bargain for supplies and services so the market is lively and fun. Find a need and fill it, get a great location and go go go.
